Upload the scans from your intraoral scanner to the patient’s record, then turn them in 3D — chairside on a tablet while you explain the plan, or at a desk.

How it works

Step 1
Upload the arches
Export from your scanner and add the upper, the lower and, if you took one, the bite to the patient’s Scans tab. PLY or STL. Give the case a purpose, a date, and a tooth or a visit if it belongs to one.

Step 2
Turn it chairside
Open the case and drag to turn it any way you like, pinch to zoom. Show both arches together, or the upper or lower on its own. Works on a tablet, a phone or a computer.

Step 3
Four views, one tap each
Occlusal, front, left and right — found from the shape of the arch itself, so each one lines up the same way every time. Left and right are always the patient’s.
Export PLY if your scanner offers it
A PLY file is about half the size of an STL and keeps the scan’s colour, so gums look like gums. STL works too — it just shows the teeth in a plain ivory.
What it’s for, and what it isn’t
It keeps each patient’s scans on their record and makes them easy to show. It doesn’t measure, and it doesn’t overlay one scan on another to compare them over time — for those, use your scanner’s own software.
Which plans include it
Digital impressions comes with Pro, and with the 14-day trial. If you upload scans on the trial and then choose Starter or Basic, they stay on each patient’s record to view, but you can’t upload new ones.
